HandsOn Bay Area strengthens communities
through volunteer action and leadership development.

Lead

Lead

Inspire and engage others in meaningful volunteer service.

HandsOn Bay Area (HOBA) is committed to developing and training new community leaders. Our unique leadership opportunities allow you to expand and apply your skills in new and challenging ways - developing projects, building relationships and managing volunteers.

If you're a current HOBA volunteer who has attended three or more projects, you're eligible to apply to be a Project Leader (PL). PLs are:

  • ambassadors, building key relationships.
  • advocates, fueling further action by sharing the need for and impact of volunteer service.
  • and administrators, who report the impact made at each project.

Besides a warm, fuzzy feeling, PLs can expect these benefits from their volunteer service:

  • Plenty of flexibility.
  • A wide variety of nonprofit parnters and perspectives to get to know.
  • A network of caring, passionate people in the Bay Area.
  • Support from HOBA staff on any issue that comes up.
  • Opportunities to multiply your impact at trainings and special events.

Project Leader Training includes an online orientation and leading alongside an experienced PL Mentor. Active PLs commit to leading 4-6 yearly projects with us.

Get started

Visit our PL Training and Resource Center to begin the Online Orientation. Once you're done, we'll connect you with a PL mentor to complete your training.
